The U.S. Commerce Department’s Internet Policy Task Force will be holding a conference on Friday December 9, Public Meeting on Developing the Digital Marketplace for Copyrighted Works. The event will take place at the Madison Auditorium, Patent and Trademark Office, Alexandria, VA. The objective of this event will be to see what role government can play in areas such as standardization of content identifiers and rights metadata, the development of copyright registries, and the adoption of blockchain and related technologies.
The event will run from 8:30am to 4pm and will feature panel discussions in the morning and “table topic” breakout sessions in the afternoon, one of which I’ll be facilitating.
There will be opportunities for people with technologies, initiatives, etc. to give demos during the lunch hour in an exhibition hall. Please email Susan Allen if interested in exhibiting.
The agenda and (free) registration are available here. The event will be live-streamed. I hope to see some of you there!
